Basic info about the camp:

Title: Jamar Simien’s Summer Art Camp 2015 (5th annual summer art camp)

Purpose: The purpose of the camp is to instill creativity in our kids and showcase their ability to express themselves in a positive way.

Activities: Watercolor paintings, clay sculptures, paper mache' animals, piñatas, charcoal portraits, cartooning, basic animation, graffiti with markers, sidewalk chalk murals and much more.

Cost: Full day option- $160 (5 day camp, 7 hours each day) Half day option- $80 (5 day camp, 4 hours each day, either morning or during the afternoon session)

Instructor: Jamar Simien, Certified Art Teacher K-12, Art teacher at Goose Creek Memorial High School, professional Visual Artist with 20+ years experience in Art

Date: July 27th - July 31st, 2015

Time: Morning session is 9am - 12:30pm, Afternoon session is 12:30 - 4:00pm

Cost: $160 for the art camp. There is a $15 registration fee and $145 tuition which will cover all art materials, snacks, door prizes and other supplies.

Facility: The Lone Star room in the Baytown Community Center (Central AC, seats up to 40, restrooms, small kitchen, vending machines, ice machines, building attendant on duty at all times)

Jamar Simien's 3rd Annual Summer Art Camp 2013

Letters will be sent home to parents during the week of May 27, 2013 concerning registration and dates for my 3rd annual Summer Art Camp which will take place on July 29 - August 2, 2013 from 9am - 3pm at the Baytown Community Center. 

Registration forms are available at the Baytown Community Center on 2407 Market St. in Baytown, Tx. Please contact Katherine Miller at (281) 420-6597 for registration questions.

The camp will be $180 for 5 fun-filled days of exploring watercolor paint, sketching and paper mache'. Snacks, art supplies and certificates of completion will be provided. 

Please complete the information and return it to Jamar Simien or the Baytown Community Center asap to reserve a seat in the 2013 Art Camp. More information is on the way!

Focus of the art camp

I am very excited to announce that registration is open for my first annual Summer Art Camp. The first session will be held on July 23, 2011.

The purpose of the camp is to instill creativity in our kids and showcase their ability to express themselves in a positive way. From basic principles of painting to grasping perspective, from understanding proportion to utilizing realism as a communicative tool- this experience will strengthen your child’s ability to perceive the world around them.

This summer’s art project will focus on watercolor with various team building exercises throughout the day. The students will use the techniques that are taught at the camp to create their very own 14” x 17” watercolor painting. The paintings will be matted and featured in a gallery at the Baytown Community Center. The next day the parents will be invited to a reception where they can see their child’s artwork on display. After the reception, the children will be able to bring their artwork home. Refreshments will be provided.

The summer camp is just the beginning. My hope is to foster student creativity, and with my help throughout the year, other camps, art shows and community service projects will showcase their incredible imagination and development.
